Rafting

Rafting on the Iskar River is an exciting way to discover the beauty of the Iskar Gorge, accompanied by a dash of adrenaline.

The difficulty of the rapids on the Iskar River approaches Class 3 in spring and Class 2 in summer (the maximum difficulty category is 6). This allows anyone, regardless of age, prior training, or experience, to go rafting in the most attractive and safe part of the Iskar Gorge.

All rafting participants are mandatorily equipped with a life jacket, helmet, and neoprene boots. In cold and rainy weather, a neoprene wetsuit and a waterproof jacket are provided. The equipment is disinfected after every use!

The base operates seasonally from April to October. Rafting trips take place morning and afternoon every day, provided there are at least 4 registered participants.

The duration of the rafting trip is between an hour and a half and two hours.

Each crew is guided by a qualified rafting instructor.

The base features:

  • Permanent changing rooms
  • Restrooms
  • Outdoor summer showers
  • Private secured parking

The meeting point is the Rafting Base, located on the border of the Vratsa Balkan Nature Park, directly opposite the Lakatnik Rocks, right on the main Sofia-Svoge-Mezdra road. It is easily accessible both by car and by train (the railway station is a 15-minute walk away).
