The route starts at the Zverino train station and follows the Zlatitsa River valley (out-and-back route). Drivers can skip a 40–50 minute asphalt walk (1.2 km) by parking past the last houses where the dirt road begins.
Initially walking high above the river, you cross the Zlatitsa for the first time 3.7 km from the station. The dirt road crosses the river over 10 times (passable by high-clearance vehicles), so strictly follow the hiking trail markers to avoid wading.
About an hour past the first crossing, the Slatina River joins from the left (landmark: a house on the right). A short detour upstream leads to two small waterfalls. Just 200m further is the junction for the Kosharen area and Okolchitsa Peak.
To reach the main waterfall, continue along the right bank. After 30 minutes through the forest, you reach open meadows with small pools and rapids along the river. Re-entering the forest brings you to the tufa cascade of the Zlatitsa waterfall, fed by a cave spring above. The area features picnic tables and benches.
Practical tips: The waterfall is most impressive during spring high water. Fountains are available along the route, though some may dry up in summer.
